About the work
(D)EFEITO – for 10 trumpets – was written in 2017, as a pedagogical piece for trumpet students (which can be performed either by beginners or intermediate/advanced players). The piece explores extended techniques and effects, scarcely used in traditional contexts (such as slap tongue, air sounds, valve clicks, etc.), but widely requested in the field of contemporary music. The work is based on graphic and chronometric notation, exposing the players to a more creative/interpretative freedom and the usage of a chronometer, rather than the conventional bar line notion of music.
